Jean-Marc Chery is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of STMicroelectronics and has held this position since January 2008. His responsibilities include Corporate Technology R&D, the production at ST’s 12” wafer fab in Crolles, and, since September 2009, the Company’s IT and communication systems. Chery is a member of ST’s Corporate Strategic Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors of ST-Ericsson.
Chery began his career in the Quality organization at Matra, the French engineering group. He joined Thomson Semiconducteurs, a predecessor company to STMicroelectronics, in 1986, and held various management positions in front-end production planning, control and operation in Tours, France. In 2001, Chery moved to Central Manufacturing as General Manager of ST’s wafer fabs in Rousset, France. In 2005, he led the company-wide restructuring program for 6” front-end wafer manufacturing. In 2006, Chery took charge of ST’s Front-End Manufacturing and Electrical Wafer Sort operations in Asia Pacific.
Chery is a member of the European microelectronics R&D programme (CATRENE) Support Group and sits on the Board of Directors of the Science and Engineering Research Council of the Singapore Agency for Science Technology and Research.
Jean-Marc Chery was born in Orleans, France, in 1960, and graduated with a degree in Engineering from the ENSAM engineering school in Paris, France.
