STMicroelectronics is the world’s leading supplier of ICs for pay-TV and conditional access, and has extensive experience supplying 8- and 32-bit secure microcontrollers for conditional access to pay-TV providers. Drawing on its expertise in security and non-volatile memories, ST is upgrading its pay-TV product family with the introduction of a new enhanced 8/16-bit microcontroller combined with EEPROM and a new 32-bit ARM SC300TM based microcontroller associated with high density Flash storage.

M2M

M2M (Machine-to-machine)
Drawing on its expertise in NVM memories for automotive markets, STMicroelectronics is extending the boundaries of the smartcard process to offer a new range of ICs with extended guarantees complying with the most demanding quality requirements for machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. Enabling secure wireless communications between various system elements (cars, metering systems, vending machines, etc.), these M2M devices withstand extreme environmental conditions such as extended temperature, humidity and vibration ranges, while the guaranteed lifetime of these products is also extended. The ST32-M family is designed to support this growing market covering various applications such as emergency calls, industrial data collection and inventory management.

NFC NFC (Near Field Communication)
NFC (Near Field Communication) technology is at the heart of an expanding range of easy-to-use, intuitive, contactless applications. These are targeting a broad range of electronics devices such as handsets, PDAs and other consumer electronics devices.
Taking advantage of the three different possible operating modes (reader, peer-to-peer, card emulation), NFC technology is used to address a wide variety of use cases such as mobile payment, ticketing and transport, Bluetooth pairing and smart posters.
The ST21NFCA offers a ready-to-use solution covering all the contact interfaces to the terminal processor, (U)SIM and all other secure elements. It also includes drivers for all standard RF protocols.
