| Selecting
the right ST components for offline LED drivers and
controllers
With LEDs now becoming pervasive in architectural-lighting
and street-illumination applications, new application
pages have been added to ST's web site to showcase the
company's extensive offering of AC mains LED drivers.
The new pages include detailed application diagrams
with direct links to product selectors for each of the
building block elements. Design information such as
application notes, reference designs and links to lighting-specific
tools are directly accessible from these page. Selecting
the LED driver/controller solution that is right for
you is now only a few mouse clicks away.

| STM32:
new turnkey algorithms supporting single-shunt sensorless
control
Advanced motor-control algorithms for STM32
MCU increase performance, lower BOM costs and shorten
time to market. Additional library functions will allow
optimal motor selection and a larger operating envelope
in future generations of appliances, industrial drives,
pumps, HVAC systems, vending and cash machines and electric
vehicles. A technical brief may be downloaded from the
ST web site. Source code is provided free of charge
upon request. More

V SiC diodes – high-efficiency silicon carbide
8 and 10 amp Schottky diodes
These Silicon Carbide structured Schottky
diodes exhibit four times better dynamic characteristics
and 15% less forward voltage drop than the fastest bipolar
silicon diode available on the market. This performance
breakthrough enables all target applications to reach
unbeatable levels of efficiency, power density, as well
as switching frequencies. The product range includes
600 V, 8 A and 10 A devices, housed in TO-220AC packages.

| USBULC6-2M6
- smallest 2 line integrated sub-1 pF ESD protection
with go-through package
Housed in a 1.00 x 1.45 mm² µQFN-6L
package, the USBULC6-2M6 provides an ultra low capacitance
(0.85 pF max) ±15 kV ESD protection for D+, D-
and VBUS. The device features a low clamping voltage
(<55 V) when subjected to ESD spikes. Its go-through
package layout makes it easy to implement in high-speed
differential line environments where impedance discontinuity
is not allowed. The USBULC6-2M6 is ideally suited for
use in mobile phones, portable MP3 players, and camera
applications. More

| EMIF10-LCD03F3
– high-attenuation, 10-line EMI filter and ESD
protection for display and camera interfaces
The EMIF10-LCD03F3 is a 10-line EMI filter
exceeding 40 dB attenuation from 900 MHz to 2 GHz, while
providing a high bandwidth of 200 MHz at -3 dB in a
tiny 4.1 mm² flip-chip leadfree package. It is
tailored for displays and camera high-speed parallel
interfaces due to its 6 ns rise and fall times and 30
pF line capacitance. It provides +15 kV ESD protection
on both inputs and outputs as per IEC 61000-4-2, the
industry’s most stringent ESD standard. More
