 ST's ROADMAP FOR TERRESTRIAL DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCAST RECEIVER FRONT END CHIPSET SGS-THOMSON's portfolio offers to set-top box designers both high-tech digital chips and high performance discrete devices. An uncontested leader in telecom protection, the Company's product line offers a wide range of standard devices with varying current capabilities, packaging and topologies for modem line protection. Rectifiers used in power supply and Application Specific Discretes (ASD™) address all communication plugs for circuit protection against electrical disturbances. These Application Specific Discretes are either programmable diode arrays with low capacitance (from 5 to 35 pF) or ESD arrays in compliance with IEC1000-4-2 level 4 (15kV air discharge and 8kV contact discharge). These devices are well suited for SCART peripherals where low capacitance is required for high speed data lines.  In power supply, SGS-THOMSON provides Schottky diodes for voltage outputs as low as 3.3V or 5V with the Low Drop Voltage family, the STPSxxL15, STPSxxL30 and STPSxxL40. For higher output voltage requirements ST offers 100V high junction temperature Power Schottky (STPSxxH100) with very low leakage current, or the Ulrafast 200V rectifiers in the STPR series. A wide range of packaging is available: from SMA to D2pak in SMD packages, axial and TO-220 for through hole.  |
