Design softwares are available to support all ST Power Factor
Corrector controllers:

L6562 |
In high performance and high power applications the fixed frequency
average current method, based on L4981A/B, is recommended.
The transition mode PWM (fixed on-time, variable frequency) using
the L656x controllers is a friendly low cost approach for low-medium
power application. L6562 is recommended for new designs.
Even though different topologies can be realized for power factor
correction, these tools support the boost topology.
The boost inductor located between the mains bridge and the switch
minimizes the noise generated at the input and therefore the requirements
on the EMI filter.
