The full AC switch safety solution

The STCC08 has been designed specifically to drive Triacs, ACS and ACSTs in digital controlled home appliances. It integrates:

	An AC switch gate driver. Its current is adjustable with the RIG resistor allowing appliance consumption optimization. This driver is also very robust and is able to withstand spurious gate kickbacks.
	An AC detector monitoring both positive and negative switch voltages; the RAC input resistor transforms this voltage into an AC current that is sensed by the controller. This resistor can be adjusted in order to obtain the best compromise between consumption and the EMC robustness required.
	A signal shaping block that converts the previous signal into a logic output: AVF

Power safety diagnostic

The diagnostic is achieved by the MCU according to the logic state of the switch control IN and the AVF logic signal. Consequently the MCU can shut off the application, for instance turning off the main relay in order to maintain the safety of the user. The MCU can store the failure, reducing service and maintenance time.
